I have found that welding a flat washer in this case a 1/4″ to what’s left of the bolt even if below the surface and then welding a nut to they washer seems to work better for me since I don’t have to aim the mig through the thickness of the nut. Jim L”

    James,

The contact enhancer is from Standard Ignition Products called SL-5 in googling it there is something called 22S also, it can be diluted with alcohol to make it seep into connectors and then the alcohol evaporates and leaves the enhancer to work. Check with your auto parts store. Putting it into some connectors it might be easier to get a syringe and needle to insert it. Jim L

    James,

We used to use a liquid that was conductive and I’ll try to find out what the name of it is. I know it was very expensive and we billed it by the drops used, I think a 1 fl oz bottle and it was about $70.00. Jim

    Bob,

You can get a new chain from a bearing supply house but they might have to order it and they can order the sprockets but you will need to have them machined to fit the shafts. I have a new unmachined crank sprocket if you are interested. Jim L

    Peter,

I put a starter on a 1906 Tourist and it wasn’t too difficult by using 2 Mopar replacement ring gears and a Mitsubishi starter. Give me a call and I’ll explain since it’s too long to post here. Number is in the roster. JimL

    Roger,

On my 1930 Club Sedan all the linkage under the hood was chromed and rusty,

since the rods needed replaced anyway I replaced with Stainless Steel and polished them so they look almost like chrome but won’t rust and don’t need polished again. The extra cost is minimal. Jim

    Jack,

I would suggest to not use anything larger than a 1/4″ drive socket set to tighten the bolts to avoid warping the cover. The small drive will let you get it plenty tight without risking breaking the bolts also. Jim”

    David,

If it is the same as a 1930 Mod B I have one you can have, it needs polished and plated. Jim

    Curtiss,

I agree with the posting of pictures, there needs to be a preview before posting an ad or message so you know if the pictures will post or not and if an ad, we need to be able to delete like a message instead of having multiple ads posted hoping the picture posted this time.

I don’t think it needs to be scrapped completely but some improvements are sorely needed without adding lots of bells and whistles that are going to slow down loadings.

Don’t ask me to help design it, if it doesn’t produce carbon monoxide and/or cut you I don’t know anything about it. My $.02 JimL

In that newsletter it says the ceremony will be the Sat before Memorial Day, wasn’t it called Armistice Day until after WWII? Jim L
