I have the rear muffler out of my 836 which has been naturally dissected (rust). There is a center tube with perforated cones every so many inches, an inner wrapper and an outer wrapper, if memory serves me., I will try to get some pics and details tomorrow .
Greg,
Those of us still shackled to employment, a midweek 4 th means you can get off 9 days in a row using only 4 vacation days. Some businesses, like my wife’s close for that week. That is a great part of the country to spend 9 days.
I would vote for it.

The condenser I have been told to use is an Onan Generator 312-0256, if memory serves me. RV places have them. (below). I took the number off with lacquer thinner, so I can’t verify.
I have a picture of the inside of a dual point for a ’33 836
Can you post some pics?

Alan,
There is usually a black and silver tag on the side. Since the these are dual points, I would think the one you list a 4 cylinder is actually for an 8. The 8’s have a 4 lobe cam and the points are 45 degrees apart
Here is a post on the AACA on Delco-Remy Dual points.
And part #,s 779813 & 779814
They have a Body by Pierce Arrow logo.
James,
Yes, I meant 3 1/2″. Sounds like it is pretty close to your E-type’s torque. Thanks for the engineering input.
Paul,
Thank you for the values, I was going to be looking for those soon. No wimpy bolts here.
I just got the Morgan engine running, now I will see if I can get the Pierce going.
I am thing going to a white dinner jacket. Stay tuned
They are about $100 less than Metro, who makes them. Figure that out.
I feel your pain. Wait until you have a ’33 and have to buy 2 to get the one you need.
Randy,
Metro Molded has some
https://www.metrommp.com/?f=product_list_for_vehicle&search_year=1927&search_make=PIERCE-ARROW&search_model=MODEL 80&search_submodel=
Rock Auto also lists them and even uses Metro’s part numbers at a lower cost.
I have newer bought from either, but at least their description might help.
John, yes I prefer rust to fur and pellets. It also eats less.
Paul, Than you for the site. I see they list it as a Studebaker Tool also.
Greg, This was an E bay item, but part of looking for something is knowing there is something to look for. I was going to use two .250 hardened steel dowel pins and a lever, as you described, but now I can use a long cheater bar and do it in a Tux.
I found it interesting that Snap-On would have a set of tools designated for Pierce Arrow. I am sure some are the same as other applications. I wish I could see the date on the Snap-On chart.
Now I will have to go see if it works.
Jim,
I know nothing about this guy, but he lists kits. I am sure there are others.
I got one off the AACA Forum. Lever pin was a little short. Rest was fine.
Classic and Exotics lists this

Good luck.
Bill
Supposedly this is his car.
Good catch. It is in Alamogordo the site of the first atomic explosion, known as Trinity in 1945.
Here is Bobby with his buddy Al.
Greg,
Absolutely, but you didn’t have a crank rotator. Lol
By the way, the OTC one is 37.5″ between plates.
Bill”
Bob,
I am with you on the sleeve. Having just wrestled 2 Pierce 8’s, I am looking for something more robust than I can find at Harbor Freight.
Bill
Bob,
That is an invaluable piece of “Tribal” knowledge that I wouldn’t have thought of. Thanks for posting. Also, it is great to have a rear end that actually rolls.
Bill
David,
Thank you, I would say you are a pretty good authority.
