June is almost here. I have a 1921 Pierce arrow truck radiator (heavy with cast iron top and bottom, and two small doors that are actually half doors for my truck in Southern California,if anyone is trailering to the Pierce Meet, please give me a call if you have room for them. If Anyone is trailering to Hershey in the fall that would work also. Thanks, Karl

Eric, Your car makes the third Pierce I have seen with this distributor. It is a perfect drop in fit. That said, I drove one on tour and it performed just fine. If you ever need parts for it, it’s from a 1932 Pontiac Model 302. I think the real reason we see them in Pierce is they were automatic advance distributors. The advance curve is a little difference than the Pierce. The advance starts at 4.5 degrees, Pierce is at 6 degrees. Max advance is 27 degrees. Pierce is 20 degrees. both at 2600 rpms. Point gap is also narrower at .013-.017. This is why our experts were baffled by your original post as it is not Pierce but must of been a “hotrod”” idea back in the day. Karl”

Mark, contact Arnold Romberg, he has the specs you are looking for to check your jet and metering valves. He may not be back from the winter board meeting in Branson, but send him an e-mail. His e-mail can be found in the online roster. Karl

Bill, there are two sizes of the Tripp Light Wrench. I do not have any in stock at this time. I see them go for 50 Dollars on e-bay as of late. If you are going to bid on one make sure you ask the seller for the measurement across the socket. This bolt is recessed and makes any other option other than the original just about impossible to use. Karl

Ed, ok, I have seen two listings on e-bay in recent weeks that have been fraud. The pictures were taken from a dealers site and bidding started at $1.00. They have both been discussed on the AACA site for those who do not get to that site. Both were pulled from e-bay before anyone was taken by the fraudulent sellers. I am sure others have not been so lucky! With time, I am sure your V12 in question will show up somewhere. If it’s too good to be true… Karl

Ed, This message helps no one or the Society. If a real car has been stolen, give us the info. Or… just what are you trying to share with the members with the above post? Karl

Glenn, the PAS tent will be in spaces C4A 22-23. This is the first row in the Chocolate Field North. Just a short walk from the pedestrian bridge to and from the Green Field. See you there. Karl

Mark, Congratulations on your purchase. This car ran great at Watkins Glenn Raceway a few years ago. I was passed by Milt coming out of the last corner, he was flying!! I think Ed M. scared a few people that day also! Karl

Richard, no coolant in there. Be sure to make a foam or cork to keep the heat in on the rod going towards the front. I am glad you can cross off one more item on the impossible to find parts list! Karl

    Ralph,

From the left tool bar: under Member benefits, click on activities. Go down to PAS Annual Meets, click on future Annual Meets. Click on the 2020 Lancaster Meet. There you will find a link in blue for our Host Hotel. The Double tree by Hilton.

I am not old enough to have been at the 1963 Annual Meet, however it was held in Lancaster PA that year. Peter sent me the unused packet to register. The hotel rate was $7 single, $2 extra for each additional guest. Tour to see the Amish $4.60. (In 2020 we will see Amish everywhere, but not tour the Amish). Registration for judging was $3. If I get time, I will scan and share this early piece of our history. That host hotel, long row of rooms single level is gone, but many still exist on the north side of town in Ronks, Bird in Hand, and Intercourse. Most summer weekends they are sold out! The 1986 Meet was in Hershey. It has been a long time since the Meet has been in PA.

Ken, I will get some info for you for the 2019 AACA Fall Meet and start a Hershey thread for this topic.

Thanks Peter for the information on Arthur Chanter.

Another note about the PAS Library collection: The local Water Company’s new multi-million dollar building is less than a mile from my work place here in Mechanicsburg PA. They are moving into this new location during this Holiday week making the building purchased by AACA for its new Headquarters and Library available soon. Our PAS Library will be moving to its new location on Hershey Park Drive sometime in 2019.

I look forward to showing our members this facility as part of the 2020 PAS Meet. Karl

Craig, yes it looks like the who’s who’s were there for the unveiling of the “New Eight” at the Plaza Hotel. I do not recognize the name of the toast master. Maybe someone can tell us who he was to the Pierce arrow company. Karl
