    Bob,

I found this on the web. Thought it might be what you were looking for regarding the linkage.

Half of the people in the photo are Karl’s family!

Karl and Mary did a wonderful job of arranging and orchestrating this tour. They enlisted their children and grandchildren to help with day-of logistics. They all did a fabulous job. We had a great time and our Pierce was well received by the AACA group. I just wish Karl would have done a better job with the weather and arranged to hold off the (light) rain for a few more hours for our ride home.

    Thanks Karl and Mary!

Unfortunately, Trico is no longer in Buffalo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trico). They closed the original Trico plant #1 in 2002.

I have a 1935 parts book. I ordered a copy of it from the AACA library (before I knew what it was). I previously ordered the 1929 parts book and got it with images and parts numbers. I thought the 1935 parts book would be similar. Wrong! As Ed mentioned, the 1935 parts book is just lists of part numbers.

    Peter,

Thank you for information and advice. I will be in touch when the time to change tires (sans suit) occurs.

Dear Bob and Greg, thank you for the replies.

Greg, I agree with you completely. Now that I am sure my wheels will try and kill me, I am happy to change my own tires. I want to purchase a split rim tool and do them myself. It was simply the conversation with the person who worked at Universal and the interchangeable use of the terms that got me wondering about the differences. Also, thanks for the tire changing photo page! I will definitely print it and use it.

    Dear all,

Just to clarify, it appears it is Ryan’s 90 year old cousin who needs convincing not Ryan on how to best sell this car on to the next owner. It sounds like Ryan is trying to be reasonable and in fact would like to be that owner. As pointed out, unfortunately these types of estate financial matter within a family frequently end badly.

    Liz,

Just checked out the museum webpage on my phone. It looks great, was easy to navigate, and yes I voted again!

    Luke,

I simple “quick and dirty” calculation can be done by dividing the number of members visiting the site by the total number of members, both data are provided at the bottom of the Announcements page. About 7% visit daily, 14% visit months, and about 40% visit annually. These are no where near exact and there may be double counting on the visits, etc, etc. Even if one argues these numbers overestimate by 2-fold, it still gives a rough idea of the percentage of members who use the website.

Since we have progressed to ways to protect our engines, I can use your help or suggestions. I am still struggling with how to attach a modern air filter to my chrome trumpet air intake on the carburetor on my ’29 8-cylinder engine. There are a few issues. First is the crank case ventilation hose that comes off the engine and attached to the chrome air trumpet a few millimeters from the end. Second is the flange on the bottom of the chrome air trumpet that with a nut and bolt to hole the trumpet onto the carburetor (see images). Both of these prevent using a simple slide on circular K&N air filter. Any suggestion how to fit a modern air cleaner on to this?
